93 Josh Raynolds, Vinous (June 2016)

Brilliant pale pink. A heady, strikingly complex bouquet evokes fresh strawberry, white peach, tangerine and pungent flowers, and suave vanilla and mineral elements develop in the glass. Deeply concentrated yet lithe and precise, offering palate-staining pit fruit, red berry, nectarine and honeysuckle flavors lifted by chalky minerality.

Shows the silky texture of a top-notch white Burgundy and finishes extremely long, sappy and pure, displaying outstanding clarity and a lingering floral note. Made from 80-year-old (or older) vines and fermented and aged in new and used 600-liter barrels. Aside from its color, this wild and extremely impressive wine has very little in common with almost any pink wine in my experience.
