(94-96) Neal Martin, The Wine Advocate (December 2013)

The 2012 Chambertin Grand Cru is noticeably deep in color. The nose is very perfumed and floral with dark cherries, bergamot, violets and a touch of incense. The oak is very well integrated here. The palate is medium-bodied with a candied entry: succulent, almost effervescent red fruit with touches of blood orange on the long finish. Superb.

92-95 Stephen Tanzer, Vinous (January 2014)

Bright red-ruby. Cooler and much more reticent on the nose than the Clos de Beze, showing a peppery topnote to the aromas of black cherry, licorice, minerals and violet. Tightly wound and vibrant, with terrific energy and cut but little early sweetness to the peppery dark fruit flavors. This youthfully imploded wine finishes with firm tannic spine and echoing peppery persistence. The stem element is a bit dominant today.
